14" Lithops Tenon Door Handle My Tenon Door Handle is an expansion of my popular Lithops Tenon line of drawer & cabinet pulls. Wrought from solid steel, its traditional joinery imparts strength & character, & makes stout & reliable handle for all sorts of doors. I make my Tenon Door Pulls by forging down a cross bar from ¾" round stock, & then upsetting it on its ends for a soft organic feel. Holes are drilled & the ½" diameter tenon posts are riveted over in a form very similar to the top of one of my Lithop knobs. The posts are then welded onto a hammered 2" square back plate with four holes for surface mounting. After forging, drilling & welding, I wire brush them just enough to remove any loose fire scale. Next I apply 3 coats of clear enamel to ensure long life & durability. I'm often asked I my finish is more silver, or more black. The answer is both. Depending on the viewing angle, & the light both colors come through (and a few more to boot). I attempted in the photos for these to show them in many different lighting conditions, so you get an idea of the dynamic color variations. Measurements: roughly 15 ⅞" long, 2 ⅜" tall, & 1" wide.
